Our services in Harrogate have recently been inspected by CQC. We are a family run large fast paced home care service working predominantly with NYCC clients and offer 15 minute pop into hour long calls. In December we gained an over all rating of outstanding.

I am exceptionally proud of our team for all their hard work, commitment and dedication they deliver daily to our service users and this has been recognised by the Inspectors. It really is a team achievement and everyone has played their part. When Lisa asked me to write something for the newsletter I thought what can I share with others about our experience and journey from Good to Outstanding.
- One of the differences in our service is that we have become more reflective as an organisation and as such developed our practice and values from our experiences, both positive and negative.
- CQC as the regulator offers a lot of information, guidance, and resources on their website which we filtered and integrated within our organisation.
- Our inspection process was robust and comprehensive and explanations were given about the new process of inspection which we found helpful and informative as regulation and inspection had changed since we were last rated.
I think the key to any organisation and your greatest asset is your staff,this is where our greatest investment has been. We have looked to develop individual skills and knowledge, our training budget in one year increased three fold but I feel passionately that you need to invest in your team in order to deliver effective services. AchievingOutstanding is an achievement, however more importantly is maintaining your service and the quality and building upon it.
