Caring for the vulnerable of Scarborough: a photo essay

Photojournalist Gary Calton of The Guardian, documents the lives of the residents and the dedication and compassion of the staff inside Saint Cecilia’s Nursing Home in the north of England, during the coronavirus pandemic.

Simon Walls is perched on the edge of a set of cupboards by a large window, gently holding the hand of 90-year-old Lily Pettener.
